Art & Pete’s Songw3rks is a “crowdsourced original music” project. The songs are written in real-time on the Brookstone Bards Twitch Show. Audience members choose the Genre, Style, Key, and Title, and brainstorm lyrical ideas. Art and Pete build each song during a dedicated Twitch session, bringing their combined expertise to the applied craft of songwriting. This first volume is the culmination of ten sessions. Art & Pete hand-picked some of Charlotte, NC’s best musicians to lend their perspectives and talents. They were given charts and demos, and told to “make it their own”. Later, at The Wav Lab, Art & Pete gathered them, put them in a room, and gave them three takes to make it work. That’s how ten songs were produced in just one week, with the same spirit of collaboration that has come to define Art & Pete’s creative process. Welcome to Songw3rks, Volume 1.
